How to Fix a Leaky Airsoft Green Gas Magazine: A Step-by-step Guide

Introduction

One of the most frustrating parts of playing airsoft is running out onto the field only to find your sidearm out of gas. It's a moment of sheer disappointment, especially when you need it the most.

Today, we'll guide you through the process of fixing your leaky airsoft magazine by replacing all the O-rings in your magazine using a Flugbone Armory O-ring kit. While we're using a WE Hi-capa for this tutorial, don't worry if you have a different model. Head over to our webpage, and you'll likely find an O-ring kit tailored for your specific gun. And if you don't see one for your model, don't hesitate to reach out to us.

Let's dive into the steps to ensure your sidearm is always ready when you need it on the battlefield.

Step 1: What we will need

  • Before we begin, make sure you have all the required tools and materials. Here is a list of what you will need:
    • Replacement O-Rings. You can purchase these right here from our online store. Each pack has enough O-rings to replace all the O-rings in a single magazine.
    • A valve tool, also available here on our website.
    • Pliers or any gripping tool.
    • A Phillips head screwdriver.
    • A pick or small tool to help remove the O-rings.
    • Clippers.

Some magazines use pins instead of screws to keep the bottom base in, for accurate tutorials for your specific magazine visit it's product page on our website to see a video guide.

Step 2: Remove Baseplate

  • Now, let's dive in. After we've made sure there is no gas inside the magazine.
  • Start by removing the baseplate using a small tool or thumbnail.

Step 3: Unscrew Base

  • Next, use a Phillips head screwdriver to unscrew the base.

Remember to be cautious because the base is under spring tension and the spring could fly across the room.

Step 4: Remove the Base

  • After unscrewing, set everything gently on the table. If the base O-ring is stuck in the body, simply pull it out.

Step 5: Remove the Fill Valve

  • Next, use the small end to remove the fill valve. If you don't have a valve tool, you can purchase one from our website.

Step 6: Remove the Hammer Valve

Step 8: Spread Lube on O-rings

  • Now let's focus on the O-rings. Our O-rings come pre-lubed. But before we Install them we need to ensure they all have an even coating.

  • Start by replacing the screw O-ring with the cyan O-ring in the kit.

Step 10: Disassemble Fill Valve

This can be tricky; I like to use clippers and just cut it.
